A video­tape that shows sev­eral Hous­ton police offi­cers viciously punch­ing and kick­ing a bur­glary sus­pect who had clearly sur­ren­dered has been released – despite vig­or­ous attempts by a fed­eral judge, dis­trict attor­ney, city mayor and police chief to block its release.
