A co-worker and friend told me about her step-brother’s §2255 motion.
He was charged federally for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. He pled guilty. His trial attorney told him to expect 10 years. He got 30.
He filed the motion pro se, and my friend asked me to look it over. Just to help her understand it, and give her an idea about what to expect.
I looked it over and told her as gently as I could that she shouldn’t expect anything from it.
The court returned the decision today.
I was right.
